Split Van rear Staight-Axle Conversion Kit. Are you fed-up with your reduction boxes? Then get rid of them with this straight axle conversion for any '56 to '67 Bus. This is the least expensive way to lower the rear 3 to 4 inches (short-travel shocks required) and take advantage of the higher gearing of a Beetle gearbox.

Kits include special-length axle tubes, new gold-anodized spring plates (not the reworked stock type that some competitors supply), gearbox gasket set, rear axle seal kits, brake cable extension tubes and the instructions to complete the conversion. Some other parts will also be required depending upon the exact year of your van.

This kit will convert your Split Van to Beetle based IRS rear suspension which will give a superior ride and better handling and will lower the rear suspension about 3 1/2 to 4 inches (short-travel shocks required).

The kit includes, new special length “floating” CV axles, special IRS control arm mounting clamps with appropriate hardware, new gold anodized special length spring plates, gearbox nosecone gasket, brake cable extension tubes and the instructions to complete the installation.

Please note: This is not a complete kit and will require other items available new or used depending on the year of your van, for example: the Beetle/Type 3 IRS gearbox, A-arms, C.V. joints and rear brakes.
