Our Environmental Policy
We believe that we have a duty to preserve our environment and not damage our planet. Whilst we recognise that all businesses have some form of impact on our environment, we have developed a range of policies to minimse our impact on the environment and reduce our carbon footprint.
Recycling Office Waste
We recycle all our waste paper. We only print out documents or files that absolutely must be printed. As much as possible, we try to run a paper-less office. We encourage suppliers and service providers to email letters and invoices to us to not only reduce costs, but to lessen the impact of paper-waste. All the paper we use in our printers for our invoices and for our catalogue is a minimum of 80% recycled.
Recycling Packaging
Sometimes, customers ask us why they got 'used' cardboard packing. We simply re-use as much packing material as we can. Boxes and cartons that come into us can be re-used provided they are strong enough for your order. If not, the cardboard can be used as packing inside boxes. Again, this reduces the need to buy in new cardboard and packing materials therefore reducing our impact on rain-forests that are being felled to produce new paper and card.
Energy Use
All the lighting in our offices and warehousing are individually switchable. Therefore we only need to light the areas that people are working in. Our exterior security lights are either on PIR sensors or on pre-programmed timers that only activate during dark hours. We do not leave any computers or equipment switched on over-night nor is any electrical item left on if it doesn't need to be used. Our new warehouse and showroom is in a building with an efficient energy rating approved by the local Council when the building was constructed.
Transport
Our new premises are located almost in the centre of the Country which is very handy for Transport links. We are well located for deliveries coming into us minimising unnecessary road-miles for delivery trucks. We are close to Rugby railway station that is situated on the West-Coast mainline and are happy to collect customers from the railway station.
We hope that with the above policies in place, we can reduce the impact of our business on the environment.
